Robertson & Co offer a motor theft investigation service that helps you to quickly and efficiently validate the theft of a motor vehicle and either confirm genuine claims for early settlement or flag suspicious claims for further investigation. This is done through a combination of desktop enquiries and field investigations.
Our field agents take CPR-compliant indemnity and liability statements from the policyholder and last user of the vehicle, if necessary, to establish their movements up until the time of theft. They will also examine the scene in order to build-up a detailed image of the theft circumstances, to establish any witnesses to the theft and to identify the presence of any CCTV cameras that may be within the area. Meanwhile, our case handlers will undertake desktop enquiries in order to validate the driving credentials of those involved, establish the vehicle’s history, undertake police enquiries and bring to your attention any red flags that go hand-in-hand with fraudulent claims.

MOJ Portal Retention
To comply with the MoJ timescales we have designed a cost-effective telephone interview service. It has been specifically designed to support the demands of the MoJ reforms by providing you with an accurate assessment of the risk in a claim and establishing where liability lies.
Our telephone interviews are underpinned by the principles of conversation management, ensuring that we accurately determine the veracity of the insured’s version of events and highlight where any risk or concerns may be found.
Upon receipt of the instruction, we will contact the insured driver on the same day in order to carry out a telephone interview. We will then obtain full details of the accident and surrounding circumstances, and provide clear conclusions and recommendations within the relevant timescales.
